Contact Southern California Blues Journal

Southern California Blues Journal is edited by a small, independent team covering the blues scene in and around Los Angeles and Long Beach. If you've spotted an error, have a correction, know of an event we're missing from the calendar, or just want to point us toward a Southern California blues story worth covering, this is the place to reach us.

For editorial questions, corrections, and event submissions, you can reach the team at [email protected] — note that this is a placeholder editorial address for this project while the site is being built out, not a live line to the Southern California Blues Society or to any ticketing office. We read corrections carefully, since the whole point of this project is to keep the facts straight: dates, venues, who organized what, and so on. If you have firsthand knowledge of an event's history — you played it, worked it, or attended it — we're especially glad to hear from you, though we'll still try to verify what we can independently before publishing anything based on a tip.

If you're submitting an event for the calendar, it helps to include the event name, date and time, venue and address, a link to the organizer's own listing or ticketing page, and any lineup details you can confirm. We'd rather list fewer events with solid information than a longer list padded with guesses, so incomplete submissions may take longer to go live while we try to confirm the missing pieces ourselves.

A few things this address is not for: we don't sell festival tickets, so ticket questions for the Topanga Blues Festival or any other event should go to that event's own official ticketing page, not to us. We also don't collect donations or memberships on behalf of any blues organization, including SCBS. If your question is specifically about reaching a currently operating blues society — SCBS or any other regional one — rather than about this journal itself, see our separate page on how to find and contact blues societies, which points to the Blues Foundation's own affiliate directory and several active regional nonprofits. For general background on who we are and how we verify what we publish, see About Southern California Blues Journal.

We try to respond to corrections and event submissions promptly, though as a small, independently run project we can't guarantee a turnaround time. Thanks for reading, and for helping keep this an accurate record of the scene.
